Overall, Wright’s Old Testament Ethics for the People of God is a comprehensive look into OT ethics and its place within Israel's covenantal community. While there is inevitably greater attention placed on the context and usage of law within Israel, the application element for contemporary believers is still generous in portion.

Alan Jacob’s How to Think is such a crucial work. It reminds us that our thinking (and our communication of our thoughts) must be done with the acknowledgment that people are at the other end. And that simple fact matters. We do not need to abandon conversations that may be filled with ideological tension. Instead, we proceed forward with discernment and wisdom, treating people with dignity and respect.

Hearing you laugh at just about anything remotely funny has us giggling back with you. It cracks me up because it reminds me so much of your mom. She has the same infectious laugh, and like you, it seems there is a relatively low bar for it to appear.

There’s a multitude of ways to deliver a message, or point. Some routes are helpful for some, while not so much for others. We naturally tend to read and interpret things differently , from person to person projecting ourselves on to the page. It’s why we can take in the exact same content and walk away with two very contrasting views on the meaning of a given work. And for the sake of helping others find the truths of the former post (or maybe adding a bit to its complexity), it can be worthwhile to say it differently.
